PETALUMA, Calif. (AP) - A dog named Scamp the Tramp has been crowned the winner of this year's World's Ugliest Dog contest, held Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma.

The contest, which is now in its third decade, is a celebration of all things unattractive in the canine world. The winner is not chosen for their beauty but for their lack of it.

Scamp the Tramp is a dog of unknown breeding with beady eyes, no teeth, and short, stubby legs. He was found as a stray and has since become a beloved member of his owner's family.

"He's the ugliest dog in the world, and we love him," said his owner, Yvonne Morones.

Scamp's victory is a reminder that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even the ugliest dogs can be loved and cherished.
